Becoming Free of Debt

Written by David DeFord

What keepsrepparttar most people from developing wealth? What isrepparttar 130614 greatest obstacle to retirement? If you could eliminate one thing to position yourself for financial peace and security, what would be? The answer to each question above is debt! Imaginerepparttar 130615 freedom and peace you would feel with no debt! Imaginerepparttar 130616 small portion of your paycheck you would need to meet your needs and obligations ifrepparttar 130617 all of your earnings were available to you! Think aboutrepparttar 130618 savings, investments, and charitable giving you could enjoy! The safety of your family may depend upon your attention to your debt. It has been estimated that 89% of all divorces can be traced to quarrels and accusations over money. What will it take to convince you to finally resolve to become debt free? Will you need to be cornered by a creditor? Will you have to be publicly embarrassed? Or will you respond to a milder stimulus, likerepparttar 130619 frank advice of a friend, or an article like this one? It's notrepparttar 130620 amount of money we earn that brings peace of mind as much as it is having control of our money. Money can be an obedient, productive servant, or a brutal taskmaster. Success has a way of passing by those who have notrepparttar 130621 discipline to handle it. Through our healthy respect for money, we can attract wealth. Compounding interest is your enemy. It robs you of your working funds. Tony Robbins taught aboutrepparttar 130622 power of compounding by comparing it to a small , friendly wager on a golf course. Say that your golf partner suggested a small 10 cent bet per hole. You think, "Well, that means that only $1.80 is at stake." So, you agree. Then, he suggest that you doublerepparttar 130623 bet on each subsequent hole. Here's how it would go, if your partner wins each of 18 holes: Onerepparttar 130624 first hole you lose a dime. Onrepparttar 130625 second, you lose twenty cents. When you addrepparttar 130626 dime fromrepparttar 130627 first hole, you're down only 30 cents. Big deal! The third hole is worth forty cents, repparttar 130628 fourth only 80 cents. Not too bad. But now watch what happens: Hole five is worth $1.60, sixth $3.20, seventh $6.40, eighth $12.80, andrepparttar 130629 ninth $25.60. When you add up your losses onrepparttar 130630 first nine, you realize you are down $51.11. Once you have finished your game, you will have lost what, maybe $150? Actually, because of compounding you will owe $19,660.80.

Now, your debts probably haven't interest rates that high, butrepparttar 130631 principle isrepparttar 130632 same--if you pay onlyrepparttar 130633 minimum payments on your debts, you will pay them for years and years. You will pay many timesrepparttar 130634 actual principle you spent inrepparttar 130635 first place.

Mythology & Parables in Modern Communication Part 2

Mythology & Parables in Modern Communication Part 2 Maurice Turmel PhD

There is a big adjustment coming in terms of our Human and Spiritual evolution, where Mythology and Parables will again play a vital role inrepparttar process. As mentioned in part 1, when our usual systems of information discernment fail us – you – we – I – will turn back to something familiar and old.

Myths are as old asrepparttar 130612 dawn of man. They predate human history becauserepparttar 130613 latter is only a recent event. Recorded history began just a few thousand years ago and there are at least 100,000 Earth years with human civilization involved yet to be accounted for. All of them as rich, I believe, as those we can currently look into through our history books. Prior to that, it wasrepparttar 130614 Oral Tradition that kept subsequent generations informed. Oddly enough, some of those Oral Traditions are still alive today in certain cultures (Egypt for example) where this missing 100,000 years of human history is available.

So where is this all taking us, this excursion into Myths and Parables? To where we stand right now, atrepparttar 130615 doorstep of this new era, repparttar 130616 dawn of another epoch, repparttar 130617 launching point ofrepparttar 130618 new Millennium. At present we can only guess at what is coming next, and how fast it is moving toward us. But it is a fact; change is onrepparttar 130619 way. Some would argue that it is already here. Right now! Because Change, transition and transformation are endless cycles. They beat their way to our doorstep and march through our lives. They are as inevitable asrepparttar 130620 seasons. In relation to repeating cycles of change for us humans, we are in one now. The Millennium has already begun.

And what is more important during such turbulent times than Faith? Faith, Spirituality and Self-Confidence are tested during such times. If we’ve only been flirting withrepparttar 130621 advancing new knowledge and subsequent changes making their way toward us, then we’d better get on board quickly because we’re in forrepparttar 130622 ride of our life. One that we could not anticipate before.

Now that we’re onrepparttar 130623 doorstep of this Change, this Great Leap Forward, why bring up a tired old subject like Mythology and its companion, Parables? And that is a very good question. Why should we reach back intorepparttar 130624 mists of time, of pre-history, for something that is supposed to help us leap forward into this new Century and Millennium? Why indeed?
