Hybrid Solar Eclipse 2005, next 2023Written by Terry Dashner
Hybrid Solar Eclipse 2005, next 2023…Terry Dashner…………………..Faith Fellowship Church PO Box 1586 Broken Arrow, OK 74013 Not long ago, I told you that I was “looking to heavens” for guidance. No I’m not an astrologist, and I do not set course of my life by zodiac; however, I do read Matthew 24: 29, often. It says, “Immediately after tribulation of those days, sun will be darkened, and moon will not give its light, and stars will fall from sky, and powers of heavens will be shaken.” That’s interesting, is it not? Unless you live on Mars, you know that tomorrow April 8, 2005, Pope John Paul II will be laid to rest. He, no doubt, was a powerful statesman, pontiff, and godly man while he lived. His legacy will live throughout history of man. I bless his memory and look forward to his successor leading Roman Catholic Church further into twenty-first millennium. I believe God is doing a wonderful work through Roman Catholic Church. Moreover, there is another significant thing happening tomorrow. Says Fred Espenak, NASA’s GSFC, “On Friday, 2005 April 08, a hybrid eclipse of Sun will be visible from within a narrow corridor which traverses far Southern Hemisphere. The path of Moon’s shadow begins southeast of New Zealand and stretches across Pacific Ocean to Panama, Colombia and Venezuela…” Fred Espenak’s web page records these words, “A hybrid eclipse is a unique type of central eclipse where parts of path are annular while other parts are total. This duality comes about when vertex of Moon’s umbral shadow pierces Earth’s surface at some points, but falls short of planet along other portions of eclipse path. The curvature of Earth’s surface brings some geographic locations along path into umbral while other positions are more distant and enter antumbral rather than umbral shadow. In most cases (like in 2005), hybrid eclipse begins annular, changes to total for central portion of path, and then converts back to annular towards end of path. However, some hybrid eclipses may be annular only at beginning (e.g. – 2013 Nov 03) and at end (e.g. – 2386 Apr 29) of path.”

"A Twist of Fate"I'll never forget day we finished my mother's wheelchair ramp. My mother had a history of congestive heart failure, diabetic neuropathy, and was becoming weaker every day. For means of transportation, it had now become necessary for her to begin using a wheelchair. When ramp that we built was finally finished, being adventurous fool that I was, I had to make certain that it would indeed "work". So, I took my mother's wheelchair and tried to wheel myself up ramp. You know, of course, I never ended up making it whole way up. I got a forth of way up and started flying backwards, proceeded to do a backwards wheelie, and ended up landing on my side; wheelchair and all. The next thing I knew, I was on my way to emergency room with whiplash. That's funny part of my mother's ramp. The sad part is, she never even got to use it. She went into congestive heart failure that night and died a few days later. I attended her funeral with my neck brace on, end result of all my shenanigans. That was back in '96. Through years, I always hated that ramp and often have been tempted to tear it down. But, someone always talked me out of it. "No, you don't really want to do that. Leave it there. It will increase your property value." So, much as I hated it, I have always left it there.
